World’s oldest library to reopen in Fez, Morocco
The world’s oldest library is getting a 21st Century make over.
Founded in the 9th century the al Qarawiyyin library in Morocco, is widely believed to be the oldest in the world. Its however been long closed off to all but a few scholars and university students. The library is expected to be opened to the public once the ongoing restoration works are complete.
