Wizkid, Davido, Stormzy scoop major MOBO awards
Nigerian Afrobeat stars Wizkid, Davido and UK charismatic MC of Ghanaian descent, Stormzy were the major winners at the MOBO awards held in the UK.
The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) awards show was held Wednesday night at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Wizkid beat Kendrick Lamar, DJ Khaled, Solange, SZA, Migos, Jay-Z, Drake and Travis Scott to scoop the award for the best international act. This comes after he was crowned best African artist at this year’s African Music Awards.

Davido clinched the prize of best African act. He was nominated alongside Wande Coal, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi, Eugy, Juls, Sarkodie, and Maleek Berry.

Michael Omari, better known by his stage name, Stormzy, won three prizes: best male artist, best grime act, and best album.
