Usain Bolt was born in Jamaica on August 21, 1986. At the age of 15, he took his first shot on the world stage at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston, Jamaica, where he won the 200-meter dash, making him the youngest world-junior gold medalist ever.
He became the very first man in history to win back to back gold medals in double sprints and won both the 100m and 200m in consecutive Olympic Games.
Bolt won his first Olympic gold medal at the Bird’s Nest, in the 100m, and has since gone on to collect five more.
Before the Beijing 2015 World Championships, Bolt had only competed in three 100m races in 2015 because of injury.
His achievements in sprinting have earned him several awards; the IAAF World Athlete of the year, two times, Track and Field Athlete of the Year and Laureus Sportsman of the Year.

Bolt has now not been beaten in the 100m or 200m in six major global championships going back to 2007.
Bolt out sprinted his biggest rival, American Justin Gatlin, who clocked 9.80 seconds. In an unusually tight race, Bolt kept his composure and won his third 100m world title and second in a row.
