West Ham’s Ghanaian forward Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew is hoping his former side Swansea City will avoid relegation from the English top-flight.

Ayew has fond memories of the Welsh side which brought him to the Premier League from France as a free agent prior to the beginning of the 2015/16 season.

During his stint with Swansea, the 27-year-old scored 12 goals in 34 appearances.

Swansea currently lies 18th in the PL table with 28 points and a disheartening -31 goal difference.

The Welsh side has only won two games in its last 10 games, losing seven in that run.

“For sure, I want them [Swansea] to stay up,” Ayew is quoted by The Sun.

“I went back to Swansea when West Ham played there and it was strange, I nearly went into the home dressing room.

“I was happy to see the fans. It is a club I really enjoyed.”

Ayew left Swansea for London side West Ham for a club record fee of £20.5 million.
