West Ham halt pursuit of Chicharito after striker demands £90,000 per goal
West Ham have halted their pursuit of Manchester United outcast Javier Hernandez after the striker made an outrageous demand of £90,000 for each goal he scores for them.
The Hammers have instead turned their attention to Hull City striker Nikica Jelavic and Chelsea winger Victor Moses who impressed with Stoke City last season.
Chicharito was given the go ahead to leave Manchester over the weekend after spending last season on loan at Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 27 year old is now expected to join German Club Bayer Leverkusen for a fee in the region of £12million.
Besides the £90,000 per goal demands, Chicharito had also stunned West Ham by requesting for a contract worth £100,000-a-week basic.
Should he choose to remain at Old Trafford, Hernandez is expected to get very limited playing time given that manager Luis van Gaal prefers to use his captain Wayne Rooney as a lone striker in front of a midfield boasting of talents such as Juan Mata and Memphis Depay.
Van Gaal had also hinted on the possibility of acquiring a new striker to share the striking responsibilities with Wayne Rooney, a move that would limit Chicharitos playing chances even further.
