UNSC to discuss worsening situation in Burundi

As Burundi’s President Pierre Nkurunziza’s five-day ultimatum to surrender illegal weapons comes to an end Friday night,tension Is high in the country.

Civilians have reportedly begun fleeing the capital Bujumbura, fearing a new wave of repression at the hands of state security forces.

The main protest areas located in the capital Bujumbura began to empty Thursday.

Meanwhile The U.N. Security Council will convene on Monday to discuss the worsening situation in Burundi.

The French Foreign Ministry spokesman was extremely concerned by the worsening situation in the country and has condemned  the hateful speeches, including those of sectarian connotation.
