UN: Half the HIV-positive population can access treatment

The United Nations recently announced a major milestone in the fight against HIV.

For the first time, half of the infected population worldwide has access to life-saving drugs.

The UN says massive progress has been made in making anti-retroviral treatment more effective and easier to take.

And, as CGTN’s Mary MacCarthy reports, being HIV-positive is no longer considered a death sentence.
