Uhuru Kenyatta has been declared the winner of Kenya’s October 26 repeat presidential election.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced him the winner of the vote with 7,483,895 votes (98.26%).

The East African country’s main opposition leader Raila Odinga boycotted the election, saying he would not participate in an election overseen by the IEBC as was constituted.

Odinga’s NASA coalition had demanded reforms at the electoral body, particularly the resignation of some officers it accused of engaging in electoral malpractices.

Kenyatta now awaits to be sworn in for a second and final term.
