Ugandan politician sold cattle to buy land worth billions

Ugandan Member of parliament , Margaret Muhanga, revealed to Uganda’s Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Authorities that she sold her cows and goats to acquire 23 acres of public land  worth Shs 10billion(approximately 2,964,700.00 US dollars)

Margaret Muhanga was answering to the committee after another Member of Parliament accused her of being corrupt alleging that she was in cahoots with others to steal public land belonging to the Uganda national broadcasting corporation according to local media reports.

According to New vision, when Margaret was asked whether the sh10b was withdrawn from a bank, Muhanga responded: “It was in my house. I paid cash and I was given a receipt.

Uganda Supreme Court ruled that the land belongs to the broadcaster and asked the MP to return tittle deed.
