Ugandan opposition MPs claim homes attacked
Two Ugandan opposition Members of Parliament on Tuesday claimed explosives were hurled into their homes on Monday night by unidentified people.
The legislators, Allan Ssewanyana and Robert Kyagulanyi AKA Bobi Wine, said they believd their lives are in danger because of their stance on the presidential age limit debate that has rocked the East African nation.
The MPs said no one was hurt in the attacks.
In a social media post, Kyagulanyi said that was the second time in two days explosives had been thrown into his home.
“Grenades have for the second time in two days been thrown at my house and exploded. Property damaged and no one hurt,” he said.

MP’s allied to Uganda’s ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party have proposed an abolition of the upper presidential age limit, in order to allow President Yoweri Museveni seek re-election in 2021.
The law currently stipulates that presidential aspirants must be below 75 years, meaning Museveni, 73 years old, would be barred from running in the next vote.
Opposition MPs have however slammed the move, accusing Museveni of plotting to cling on to power beyond the legal limit.
A brawl erupted in parliament last week between NRM and opposition members, with the Speaker suspending 25 Members for the next three sittings.
