Uganda and Ethiopia have agreed to work together to end the violence in South Sudan.

The agreement was reached during Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn visit to Uganda.

Desalegn, in his capacity as the head of the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni have played a key role in trying to resolve the conflict in South Sudan.

More than one million South Sudanese refugees have fled into Uganda, with the United Nations listing the world’s youngest nation as Africa’s largest refugee crisis.

Desalegn is set to wrap his visit to Uganda on Saturday with a tour of an HIV drug factory in Kampala.
