The rest of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League and Europa League seasons will be played in August in knock-out tournaments in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, and cities across Germany.
The Champions League’s remaining games beginning from the Quarter final stage will be played in a condensed period from August 12 to August 23.
The four remaining last-16 second-leg matches, including Manchester City vs Real Madrid, will take place on August 7 and 8. UEFA is however yet to announce if these games will be played at the respective host stadiums or in Portugal.
The announcement of the new dates comes as leagues across Europe resumed games following weeks-long shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Spain’s La Liga has already resumed action as the English Premier League is set to resume later on Wednesday. Italy’s Serie A will resume on June 20.
UEFA also confirmed that all 12 original host cities of the EURO 2020 will stage matches in the delayed finals.
The competition is now scheduled to take place in June 2021, but may still be referred to as EURO 2020.
