U.S. revised travel ban version goes into effect
The revised version of U.S. President Donald Trump’s fiercely contested travel ban goes into effect this Thursday.
The new restrictions on travel to the U.S. targets mainly refugees and migrants from six predominantly Muslim countries.
Foreign nationals from these countries will be required to provide a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with either an entity or a person living in the US.
Countries affected are Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Existing visas will be respected, but new applicants will be subjected to the rules.
