U.N. needs $1.5 billion to avert Lake Chad crisis

The United Nations says it needs 1.5 billion dollars to deal with the food crisis in the Lake Chad basin. The region has been hit by a severe food crisis caused by the Boko Haram insurgency.

CGTN’s Peninah Karibe sat down with the UN resident coordinator in Chad, Stephen Tull, and began by asking him, how much of that appeal has been received.
