Twitter filled with quick recovery messages for Senegalese striker Demba Ba following horrific leg-break
Senegal’s former Chelsea striker Demba Ba suffered a potentially career-ending broken leg while playing for his club Shanghai Shenhua against Shanghai SIPG on Sunday, sending chills on the stadium as well as viewers.
The forwards, 31, collapsed during a challenge with an opposing player, with his left leg giving way beneath the knees as he fell down.
“It could end his professional career,” said Shenhua coach Gregorio Manzano.
Former West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea frontman Ba joined the Chinese side from Turkish club Besiktas for about £12m last July.
Social media has been awash with get-well-soon messages for the striker, with former team mates and clubs wishing him a quick recovery.
