Spanish giants Barcelona completed the greatest comebacks in the history of Europe’s most elite football competition – the UEFA Champions League – by beating visiting Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 to win the two-legged tie 6-5 on Wednesday night.
The win ensured the Catalans booked a place in the last 8 for the tenth consecutive season.
Having gone 4-0 in the first leg played in Paris, the Spanish side was widely expected to crash out of the competition, but that was not part of its plans.
The scenes that ensued at the Camp Nou after the win are something many football fans live for.
On social media, the reaction was overwhelming.
Fans of the Catalans flooded social media sites to congratulate their team, and to show their disbelief at the feat their team just achieved.
Indeed, overturning a 4-0 loss to win and ensure progression into the next stage is something that until yesterday was just a fantasy.
