Tunisia’s PM-designate postpones government announcement

Tunisia’s Prime Minister-designate Elyes Fakhfakh postponed announcing a new government until Saturday, according to a statement by the Tunisian presidency.
Fakhfakh on Friday said he made the decision in order to “ensure the smooth formation of a government and continue relevant consultations.”
Earlier, the Tunisian Islamist party Ennahdha (Renaissance) threatened not to grant confidence to the Fakhfakh government.
Abdelkarim Harouni, Ennahdha consultative assembly chairman, said in a statement that Ennahdha, which has a majority of 54 seats in parliament, rejects Fakhfakh’s exclusion of the Heart of Tunisia party, which has 38 seats, from his new government’s lineup.
