Tunisian President appoints ambassadors to Russia, Pakistan

Tunisian President Kais Saied appointed Tarek Ben Salem as Tunisia’s new ambassador to Russia and Borhan Al-Kamel as ambassador to Pakistan, the presidency said in a statement.

In a statement following the ceremony, Salem said he will focus on bilateral trade with Russia by developing Tunisian exports and strengthening the position of Tunisia as part of the strategic partnership between Africa and Russia.

For his part, Kamel said he will work on opening the emerging market of Pakistan to Tunisian agricultural products and phosphates, in addition to strengthening cooperation in the scientific and cultural fields.
