Tunisia’s Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) has begun distributing election materials in various constituencies in the country, ISIE president Nebil Baffoun said on Monday in a press statement.

“The ISIE is ready for the early presidential election to be held on Sept. 15,” Baffoun said.

He added that the ISIE has 33 offices, including 27 in Tunisia and six abroad.

“There are 30,000 polling stations in 5,467 voting centers in Tunisia and 384 centers abroad,” Baffoun said.

The ISIE’s president pointed out that nearly 60,000 people with polling stations will be mobilized on the voting day to ensure the operation.

Baffoun said that 4,500 observers will follow up the campaign, the number of which is expected to increase.

There are 26 candidates running for the early presidential election scheduled on Sept. 15 and voting abroad will take place from Sept. 13 to 15.

More than 7 million voters have already registered at the ISIE.
