A special ceremony is being held in the Tunisian resort of Sousse to remember the 38 people killed in an Islamist attack a week ago.
Dignitaries and tourists staying at the beach resort are expected to attend.
A one-minute silent will also be held across the UK to remember the 30 British tourists killed in the attack.
People from all walks of life are coming together to show solidarity with the North African country.
A body representing Tunisia’s tourism restaurants held a large Ramadan iftar meal in central Tunis and invited Christians, Jews and foreigners as a way of unification.
Authorities have since raised security alert levels and deployed thousands of security agents to prevent a repeat attack saying they have uncovered the network behind the attack and are holding eight people suspected of direct links with the gunman.
Twelve people have also been arrested in connection with the attack.
The impact of that attack has been felt far beyond Tunisia’s borders, with Britain taking the hardest hit. 30 British nationals were killed in the attack.
A minute’s silence will be held across the United Kingdom at midday, local time, to remember all the 38 people killed in the attack. Britain has also lowered its flags to half mast in their respect.
Flags above Downing Street and Buckingham Palace were among the first to be lowered.
According to officials, the first inquests into the deaths of the Britons will begin later, with more bodies expected to repatriated.
Post-mortem examinations will also be carried out, before the bodies are released to their families.
