The United States and Russia on Wednesday reached an agreement to have Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin hold a summit in a third country.
Russia’s presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov announced that Wednesday talks between Kremlin and Trump’s national security advisor John Bolton yielded the agreement on the time and venue of the summit.
He did not however reveal the date and location of that meeting, though it is expected that these will be made public of Thursday.
There has been high anticipation for a possible meeting between Trump and Putin, as the two nations seek to mend relations that have soured since the former took over from Barack Obama.
Ties between the U.S. and Russia have hit lows not experienced in decades.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has previously said Moscow “is ready for contacts.”
Vienna, Austria is seen as a possible location for that meeting.
