Trump in DMZ to meet DPRK’s Kim
U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on Sunday afternoon accompanied by Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in ahead of a meeting with Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong Un.
Trump and Moon confirmed this short meeting earlier at Sunday’s press conference following a bilateral talk.
It will be the third meeting between President Trump and DPRK leader Kim in just over a year, and their first since a summit in Vietnam broke down in February.
The meeting of the two leaders will take place during Trump’s two-day visit to the ROK.
The meeting is expected to take place in Panmunjom, the so-called truce village inside the DMZ, where negotiations between South and North Korea have often taken place.
