Colonel Guy Gbezonde is the new man in charge of Togolese football after garnering 25 votes in the election held over the weekend.

After months of crisis, Togolese Football Federation finally held its polls in search of a new president on Saturday, amid tight security with Colonel Guy Gbezonde beating his rival by nine votes. Fans and players in the country hope this is signals a new dawn after months of going without a domestic league. There have been concerns on the impact of an 11-month suspension on the national side with the Afcon qualifier against Tunisia coming up next month.
