Three killed in Algeria flooding
Three people including a teenager have died in flooding as torrential rain swept homes, shops and offices in south-eastern Algeria, authorities said on Tuesday.
Two of the victims, a tailor and a seamstress, were found dead in their workshop, and the 16-year-old is believed to have been killed by a short circuit, a civil defence official said.
Monday’s deaths occurred in the south-eastern city of Constantine where the flooding damaged homes, offices and shops and trapped motorists.he floods caked streets in mud, swept away parts of two bridges that lead to the town and damaged a hospital.
State news agency APS reported heavy rains had damaged water and power services in several villages on the Mediterranean coast east of Algiers.
