Read < 1 minute

Thousands gathered on Saturday to celebrate the birthday of the eighth Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini.

Zwelithini, who just turned 67, has been on the throne for 46 years, which is the longest time in Zulu history.

According to the South African constitution, he is treated as a Vice president of the country. He does not however have a real executive authority, since he is regarded as a spiritual leader.
