At least ten police officers have been quarantined in a hospital on the outskirts of Nairobi after showing cholera symptoms.

The officers were part of a team that had been staying in hostels at the Multimedia University as part of the security efforts following the Supreme Court ruling on Kenya elections.

Police said the victims had stomach pains and diarrhea before they were rushed to Sinai Hospital where they were admitted as they displayed symptoms indicative of cholera.

Nairobi County health executive Bernard Muia said the officers had been quarantined at the hospital as further tests is run on them.
