#TasteOfAfrica: Getting a taste of Uganda
Anybody visiting Uganda always looks forward to experiencing the country’s wide variety of cuisines, ranging from the world renowned matoke to the food billed as ‘reserved for the daring’, the nsenene.
Matoke basically refers to unripen bananas, a delicacy that is more of a staple food in the East African country. The fruit is harvested green and then cooked and often mashed or pounded into a meal. It is then steam-cooked, and then mashed.
Most restaurants in Uganda offer matoke hence any visitors wouldn’t find any difficulties in getting a taste.
