Tanzania’s President John Magufuli has unveiled his new cabinet comprising 18 ministers, with four ministerial positions yet to be filled, as he looks for suitable candidates.

This is the leanest cabinet that the East African nation has ever had, made up of new faces and also includes six women.

President Magufuli, nicknamed ‘The Bulldozer’ from when he was the Minister of Works, has also ordered that there be no induction retreat for the new officials, whom he said should be well familiar with the governing party’s agenda to deliver for the people of Tanzania.

The four slots yet to be filled are the ministries of Finance, Tourism, Education and Transport and Works. Magufuli says he is still looking for suitable candidates.
