Tanzania re-opens refugee camps to accommodate Burundi refugees

Read < 1 minute

Tanzania is re-opening more refugee camps along its border with Burundi to help deal with the thousands of people who are still fleeing the country.

Tens of thousands of Burundians are being moved from the over-crowded Nyarugusu camp in Tanzania, to former settlements that were used during the last Burundi crisis.

It means at least 35,000 people will be able to leave mass shelters, which are in danger of flooding when the rains come. Our reporter Dan Ashby travelled to one of the camps that’s being reopened.
