Tanzania civil servants ordered to cut on time spent on social media

The minister in charge has told his staff the days of spending hours on social media are over.
Tanzania’s Transport and Communication minister Makame Mbarawa issued the warning saying the directive was aimed at boosting service delivery and getting workers to concentrate on their jobs.
The minister has ordered his own staff to serve as an example.
Mobile phone companies have promoted cheap data bundles to target the growing number of Tanzanians who are active on online platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
