Somalia has made major strides in the battle against Al Shabaab. AMISOM troops have steadily forced them out of major urban areas and the militants have lost a number of key operatives due to expanded military presence.
Yet it’s been almost 4 years since the Shabaab was driven from Mogadishu, and still it suffers devastating attacks as witnessed last weekend.

So what progress has been made in Somalia? And what will it take to stop Al Shabaab’s resilient insurgency?
