Talk Africa: Africa and Globalization
The 2019 World Economic Forum brought together leaders from Government and the private sector in Davos, Switzerland under the theme, Globalization 4.0; Shaping a New Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Key issues such as Climate change and the development of technology were discussed. However the conference also raised questions about the future of inclusive globalization and multilateralism. It was also notable, that fewer world leaders attended the Forum as compared to previous years.
This week we look at some of the outcomes of the conference and ask if there is indeed a changing world economic order? And where does Africa fit into it?
On this week’s show, CGTN’s Beatrice Marshall speaks to;
Prof. Xu Qinduo – Senior Fellow at the Pangoal Institution.
Geert Laporte – Deputy Director of the European Centre for Development Policy Management
Ken Gichinga – Chief Economist at Mentoria Consulting
