Sustainable farming helps protect Cameroon’s native trees
The bark of the Prunus Africana tree, also known as red stinkwood, is commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry.
It’s an important source of revenue for locals in Cameroon, but high demand leads to over-harvesting, which can damage the health of the trees. To curb this, farmers in the country are being taught sustainable practices to protect the threatened tree species.
