Sudan’s al-Bashir promises to free political prisoners

Sudan’s President Omar Al-Bashir has announced that all “political prisoners “will be released before the General Conference of the National Dialogue kicks off on 10 October.

Bashir made the announcement during a dialogue’s general assembly at Friendship hall over the weekend. He did not give any further details on how political prisoners might be defined.

He said that the most important outcomes of the dialogue, besides the recommendations were the value of acquaintance and communication between the participating leaders in a manner which was unprecedented.
