Students in S. Sudan participate in sports aimed at reconciliation

Peace and reconciliation efforts in South Sudan have been boosted following the completion of a sporting activity aimed at reconciling warring parties.

University of Juba students cheered as their colleagues took part in a football tournament dubbed sport for peace. The competition was a two week event between two teams from the university. Team A emerged victorious but for many of these students the results was of no consequence. The idea behind the tournament carrying more weight.

The student’s hope their message of reconciliation can reach their countrymen beyond the capital as civil strife continues in the world’s youngest nation.
