Sun Yusheng, a senior CMG official, said at a launch ceremony for the production that the movie version of the gala will be released in 4K ultra-high-definition video with 5.1-channel stereo sound.

It will be translated into several of China’s ethnic minority languages as well as some overseas languages, so that it is widely accessible for its global audience.

The list of programs and presenters for the gala was released earlier today, with some new faces set to take to the stage for the first time when the gala begins on Friday evening, which is the eve of the Chinese New Year.
