12 months ago, the world’s youngest nation South Sudan’s football team recorded a historic result over Equatorial Guinea at home, beating the visitors by a solitary goal to ensure they got their first ever international win.

On Sunday, South Sudan travels to Equatorial Guinea for the second leg of their AFROC qualifiers group match, this time with their eyes set on getting a first away win.

Both teams have already been eliminated from qualification for the 2017 showpiece that will be hosted by Gabon.

From the group, Mali has already qualified for the January games, and may be joined by Benin.

Gabon will host the continental showpiece from January 14 to February 5 as 16 teams battle it out to be crowned the African champions.
