South Sudan government fires striking judges
At least 13 judges have been fired following several months of strike, asking for better working conditions reports the Eye Radio.
A senior judge has confirmed to Eye Radio of the dismissal of the judges after the strike calling for better working conditions and sacking of the Chief Justice, Chan Reech.
South Sudan President Salva Kiir issued a decree last night dismissing the judges with no explanation provided.
The judge, not been mentioned by name due to personal safety concerns, said a committee of jury met and resolved not to alert the media for fear of personal security.
