SABMiller, the world’s second-largest brewer, has announced that it is scaling back operations in South Sudan and may have to shut down its $50 million factory there, just six years after it was initially set up.

The country’s tough economic conditions, as well as its civil war, have hampered SABMiller’s operations. Nonetheless, management is hopeful that the recent signing of a peace deal, might improve the business outlook.
