South Africa’s former street kid-turned-businessman produces his own hangover cure

South Africa’s boozing culture and the effects of alcohol on health has inspired a former street kid-turned-businessman to invest R1-million to produce a drink that would fight hangover and protect the liver.
Teboho Twala, 35, lives in Johannesburg. He has been working on this beverage for two years now. During this period, he did market research, branding, bottle design and got himself partners.
South Africa’s Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has recently expressed deep concerns about the high alcohol consumption among South Africans.
South Africans are reportedly among the world’s highest consumers of alcohol, with one in four adults classified as heavy drinkers and the problem is reported to be getting worse.
Teboho conceptualized and developed a product Zzero Hangover. Zzero Hangover is a carbonated, non-alcoholic functional beverage which helps to curb hangover. The product aims to minimize the harsh effects of alcohol by Rehydrating, Replenishing, and Revitalizing the body.
The drink has already received orders from as far as Botswana. Zzero Hangover was developed in consultation with nutritionists and a doctor who put it through various safety tests. According to Teboho It was also recommended to teetotallers as it improves blood concentration.
