South African mineworkers strike ends as union signs 2 year deal with Eskom
The wildcat strike by the National Union of Mineworkers at Eskom power stations is over.
In the early hours of Friday morning solidarity and the NUM signed a two year deal with the power utility. The National Union Metalworkers of South Africa has taken the deal back to its members for approval. The deal will see members from the three unions get increases of between 8.5 and 10 percent in each of the two years.
