South African Companies Going Eco-Friendly
South African companies are under pressure to use environmental friendly ways in producing their products
Van Dyck Carpets has used over 8 million dollars to transform into a comprehensive recycling programme that uses recycled truck tyres and plastic to create carpet backings and floor tiles.
Unilever company is one of the oldest companies in South Africa having operated for at least 100 years, launched its green strategy seven years ago. It started building environmentally friendly factories and utilizing less power.
The company has used over 130 million dollars in its new Boksburg company in Johannesburg. The new branch has cut 50 percent of its carbon emission in the two months of operation.
