South Africa records 525 new COVID-19 cases bring total to 9,420.

South Africa has reported 525 new COVID-19 cases taking the country’s total number of cases to 9,420.

The total number of tests conducted to date is 324,079 of which 16,327 were done in the last 24 hours,” Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize said in a statement.

The death toll stands at 186 after eight individuals died from COVID-19 while recoveries stand at 3,983, according to the Ministry of Health.

In his latest update on the pandemic, South Africa’s Health Minister said that from the eight new deaths, seven were from Western Cape and one from KwaZulu Natal including that one of the deceased was a nurse from Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town.
