South Africa congratulates Xi Jinping, CPC
South Africa’s ruling ANC Party has congratulated Xi Jinping for being re-elected as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), following a successful 19th congress which ended on Tuesday in Beijing.
The Congress ended with Xi’s idea of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era enshrined into the Party Constitution, also installing a new Central Committee and a new Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
China’s influence on the African continent has expanded to go beyond trade and investment to shared exchanges on leadership.
ANC’s spokesperson Khusela Sangoni congratulated CPC Secretary General Xi Jingping on his impact on steering China forward and his stewardship of the CPC.
“The African National Congress firstly congratulates the CPC on a very successful 19th National Conference. We also send our well wishes to the newly elected leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core,” she said.
She also said her country was inspired a lot by China.
“The people of South Africa take a lot of inspiration from the People’s Republic of China. They are a proud people, they are a great Nation, have gone through a lot of triumph and struggles and obviously given our past, we would have learned from that.”
President Xi, in his speech at the closing ceremony of the 19th CPC Congress, said he was optimistic the resolutions made would ensure success for China.
“We believe that all the decisions and plans the congress has made and all the outcomes it has achieved will play a vital role in guiding and ensuring success in our major endeavors,” he said.
