Somali youth awarded for her fight against use of children in conflict

Meet 26-year-old Ilwad Elman who has been named Africa’s female youth of the year for 2016, for her exemplary role in leading the fight against the use of child soldiers in armed conflict. Ilwad Elman is the Director of Programs & Development for the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Somalia.
