Six people killed in Kenyan school, attacker lynched by mob in police station
Six people, including five students, were killed by unknown assailants at a school in northern Kenya on Saturday, local Nation newspaper reports.
The outlet reports that one of the attackers responsible for the killings was a student who was serving suspension.
It is not clear what the assailants’ objective was for the attack.
Authorities report that one of them was arrested by police as he tried to flee to South Sudan.
Locals however stormed a police station where he was being held and burned him to death.
“The attack … is a painful reminder of the state of insecurity along the border,” Turkana County governor Josphat Nanok said on Twitter.
