Shops in Kampala remain closed days after strike began

Business is back to normal in Kampala, Uganda after traders closed shop for most of Thursday protesting new taxation regulations.

The traders accused Uganda’s tax authorities of cracking down hard on them for not clearing taxes on time.

The Revenue Authority termed the strike as illegal and uncalled for.
