Senegalese striker Demba Ba vows to return to action despite horrific leg-break
Senegalese striker Demba Ba has revealed that he is not considering retirement following the horrific leg-break that he suffered while playing for Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League.
The 31-year-old broke his leg in the second half of his side’s derby victory against Shanghai SIPG, and has been ruled out of action for at least 9 months.
“This is a really bad injury but I can overcome it. I won’t call time on my career, that’s for sure,” the former Newcastle United and Chelsea FC player said.
“The season here ends in November and the new one starts in March. I’ll do my best to return in time for the season after that.”
Ba’s side currently lie fifth on the Chinese championship standings.
