
Scientists in Uganda seek to ramp up rice production using different varieties
Scientists in Uganda are carrying out trials on different rice varieties in a bid to increase the country’s total production.
Most of the country’s rice is imported and authorities want to make the country — and local farmers — more self-sufficient. Experts from 25 African countries have been meeting in Kampala to discuss ways of solving food security problems on the continent.
