Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o made an outrageous promise to one fan, pledging to give him €100,000 if his club Antalyaspor des not finish in the top ten of the Turkish Super Lig.
Antalyaspor have played seven league games so far but have not won a single match, drawing three and losing four.
On Monday, they were so close to grabbing their first win against Rizespor but they conceded late in stoppage time to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Following the disappointment, Eto’o went on to meet the angry fans after the match, where he made the shocking pledge to give one of the supporters €100,000 if Antalyaspor do not finish the season in the top 10.
Eto’o then took the name and number of the lucky fan – who will surely spend the rest of the season torn between wanting his team to win and wanting the €100,000 that he will only get if they keep losing.
